Correction of Presbyopia (aging hyperopia) in at Ophthalmological Centre after S.V.Malayan
06 March 2017   (0)
Surgical correction of presbyopia which is known as aging hyperopia was carried out at Ophthalmological Center after S.V.Malayan 4 years ago for the first time by Assoc. Prof. Lilit A Voskanyan, Head of Glaucoma department.

Astigmatism
Astigmatism
09 March 2016   (0)
Astigmatism usually occurs when the front surface of your eye, the cornea, has an irregular curvature. Astigmatism is one of a group of eye conditions known as refractive errors and these errors cause a disturbance in the way that light rays are focused within your eye. Astigmatism often occurs with nearsightedness and farsightedness, conditions also resulting from refractive errors. Astigmatism is not a disease nor does it mean that you have "bad eyes." It simply means that you have a variation or disturbance in the shape of your cornea.
Hyperopia
Hyperopia

Hyperopia (farsightedness), is a refractive error, which means that the eye does not bend or refract light properly to a single focus to see images clearly. In hyperopia, distant objects look somewhat clear, but close objects appear more blurred.
Myopia

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a refractive error, which means that the eye does not bend or refract light properly to a single focus to see images clearly. In myopia, close objects look clear but distant objects appear blurred. It is an eye focusing disorder, not an eye disease.
Cataract
Cataract

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision. Most cataracts are related to aging. Cataracts are very common in older people. By age 80, more than half of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery.

The thickness and diameter of the corneal flap are individually determined. Above all the thickness of the flap can be extremely accurately controlled. So people who tend to have a thin cornea can be treated safely with the femtosecond laser.

Phacoemulsification cataract surgery is a procedure in which an ultrasonic device is used to break up and then remove a cloudy lens, or cataract from the eye to improve vision. The insertion of an intraocular lens (IOL) usually immediately follows phacoemulsification.

PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a type of refractive surgery to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) andastigmatism. PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction and is the predecessor to the popular LASIK procedure.

Since 2005 owing to the introduction of refraction surgery and laser technology, modern laser surgeries (PRK,LASIK) are conducted in our Center which can save people from wearing eyeglasses and lenses. These surgeries are performed with the help of American most recent system “Alcon” and an instrument called microkeratome which provides patients with new “LASIK” technology.
